Community survey starting around organics collection

The City of Lethbridge is working with Ipsos to conduct a telephone survey around the community's current perceptions of organics waste collection.

Starting Tuesday, September 3, residents may receive a call from Ipsos asking for their feedback. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes and will give important insight into the community's thoughts around year-round organics (food and yard waste) collection service as well as other organic diversion programs. It will also measure citizens' current behaviours surrounding their food and yard waste material.

In November 26, 2016, City Council instructed administration to prepare a plan for a curbside organics program to be brought forward for consideration following the implementation of curbside recycling. This proposal is being developed and will come forward to council this fall. The information gathered from this survey will serve as both a baseline for future comparison as well as assist in decision making for the planning and design of a potential green cart program.
