Residents who notice downed branches or trees in parks, green spaces or boulevards from last week's thunderstorm are asked to report them by calling Public Operations at 403-320-3850 or by using the LethRequests mobile app. This app is available in the app store on mobile devices.
City of Lethbridge crews continue cleaning up downed branches resulting from last week's thunderstorm, and we want to ensure all trees in public areas that sustained damage receive attention as soon as possible.
The majority of the damage discovered so far is broken branches, but any trees lost due to the storm will be replaced. City crews will clean up any downed branches located in public areas or that are obstructing roads, sidewalks or pathways.
Residents attending to downed branches on private property can dispose of branches up to eight inches in diameter and up to six feet in length at any of the three Yard Waste Sites in the city. Residents who need to dispose of branches larger than this can take them to the Waste and Recycling Centre (fees may apply) or hire a private contractor to dispose of them.
