Riverstone residential fire

​At 12:49 this afternoon, fire crews responded to a structure fire at a residence located in the west Lethbridge neighbourhood of Riverstone.

Crews from three fire stations arrived to find a home with large flames visible from both the first and second floors as well as the attic area. Firefighters were able to quickly get the blaze under control but remained on scene to extinguishing spot fires.

Occupants of the home were able to safely evacuate on their own with firefighters rescuing a cat after the fire was extinguished.

There were no injuries reported and loss is estimated in excess of $750,000.00. The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.
