Effective immediately, 6 Street South will be closed between 3 Avenue and 4 Avenue so crews can complete an urgent sewer service repair.
Businesses remain open and access will be accommodated.
This work is expected to be completed by end of day January 6, weather permitting.
A reminder that construction on Festival Square nearby on 6 Street South has ceased until the spring. The portion of 6 Street between 3 Avenue and 4 Avenue remains closed to through traffic.
Once concrete test results for the roadway are approved, it is anticipated that this stretch of road, as well as the adjacent laneway, will temporarily reopen to through traffic by mid-January until construction can resume in the spring. Construction fencing will be moved from the road and laneway but will remain around the plaza component.
Motorists are advised to drive with caution in this area and follow posted detours.
