30 Street West has been reopened. Crews have been dealing with drifting snow all day and will continue to clear problem areas including alleys over the next 24-48 hours. With 10 cm of snow forecast tonight, snow crews will return to Priority 1 plowing routes. Once completed, windrowing and snow removal will continue. Whoop-up drive remains at 60 km/h due to road spray and projected temperature drop after dark.
Effective immediately, 30 Street West is closed between Whoop-Up Drive and Aquitania Boulevard West and between Garry Drive West and Walsh Drive West due to heavy snow drifting.
Heavy snow drifting is occurring in areas of west Lethbridge, and snow crews are now concentrating efforts on Priority 1 Plowing Routes, with a specific focus on areas with snow drifts.
Residents are reminded that they can contact Public Operations at 403-320-3850 to report problems such as drifting snow and icy patches on neighbourhood roads. However, response times will vary depending on the volume of calls.
