On Monday, March 8, work will begin on a project to reline sanitary sewer pipes along Scenic Drive S from 6th Street S to 1st Street. Work will take place from March 8th until April 16th, weather permitting.
The right turn lane from 4th Street S to Scenic Drive S will be closed for the duration of the project and the inside lane of Southbound Scenic Drive S. will see temporary lane restrictions.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic disruptions while work is occurring and are asked to drive with caution, follow detours, and slow down around work crews. Residents in this area have been notified in advance regarding scheduled interruptions in their household sewer service.
The City of Lethbridge is repairing aging sewer lines with Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP), a cost-effective alternative to sewer line replacement. CIPP is a relining solution that eliminates the need to dig up roads, making it much less disruptive for residents and commuters.
