As part of the University Dr twinning project, a series of detours will be in place on Sunday, September 1, around the intersection of RiverStone Blvd and University Dr for the installation of new traffic lights. This work is being planned during the quieter weekend traffic and before the back-to-school rush expected next week.
Residents are also reminded of the new pedestrian crossing for University Dr that will be available for back-to-school. A mid-block crossing has been put in place south of Grand River Blvd including pedestrian activated flashing lights to enhance safety. This will help accommodate children getting to and from St. Patrick Fine Arts Elementary School, Dr. Gerald B. Probe School and Senator Fairbairn Middle School.
Vehicle access to University Dr via Grand River Blvd remains closed and a detour directing RiverStone traffic to access University Drive W from RiverStone Blvd or Riverglen Link is still in effect. It is anticipated that Grand River Blvd W will be reopened the week of September 30, 2019.
For everyone's safety, residents are reminded of the importance of follow the construction site signage and detours in place and to walk and drive with extra caution in the construction zone.
