New traffic lights will be installed at the intersection of Grand River Blvd/Rocky Mountain Blvd W and University Dr. W on Sunday, December 15. Motorists should expect detours and possible delays starting at 10 a.m. Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by 3 p.m.
Sunday's work will include the installation of the new mast arms. Wiring will be completed next week at which time the temporary lights will be decommissioned and the new lights will become operational.
With the installation of the new traffic lights, the mid-block pedestrian crossing south of the Grand River Blvd W will be closed and pedestrians can again use the Grand River Blvd and University Dr. intersection.
University Drive W is being twinned from north of Stadium Drive W to south of SunRidge Blvd W to increase the roadway's capacity for handling increasing traffic volumes.
