Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a residential fire in the 100 Block of Trent Road West at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 28.
Fifteen firefighters from three stations arrived and found a single family residence involved in fire. Fire investigators have determined the cause to be an accidental kitchen fire, starting on the stove and quickly spreading to the dining room and living room.
The wind was gusting at 85 km/h at the time, which had a profound effect on the damage to the structure. Crews, however, were able to prevent the spread to any adjacent property.
Damage is estimated at $300,000.
