Ongoing road construction in west Lethbridge may cause temporary interruptions for vehicles and pedestrians early next week.
On Sunday, July 15, a series of lane closures at the University Drive and Walsh Drive/Heritage Blvd W intersection will be in place as old traffic signals are removed and new signals are activated. The work is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. and should be completed by early afternoon. Police will be on-site to assist with traffic flow while the signal lights are down.
Starting on Monday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m., there will be a series of lane closures at the intersection of Garry Drive and Squamish Blvd/Heritage Blvd W for the installation of pedestrian crossing flashers. Lane closures and pedestrian detours will be in place as work is staged over the next two weeks.
The public is reminded to watch for signage and reduce speeds in construction zones.
