Whoop-Up Days Return!

Whoop-Up Days 2022 is celebrating 125 years of history and will kick off with the return of Tuesday morning's parade.

On August 23, the parade will begin at 9 a.m. from Park Place Shopping Centre and end at Galbraith Elementary School. It will proceed east along 3 Avenue South from the downtown area and turn north along 13 Street and then east along 9 Avenue North. Route map can be found here.

The parade will be starting one hour earlier than years passed, meaning road closures will also begin earlier. If you travel to an area within the parade route, plan accordingly for any route closures and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

During the parade hours, the CultureLINK bus will not be running and some transit routes may be interrupted.

Due to the ongoing construction at the Agri-Food Hub and Trade Centre, on-site parking at Exhibition Park will be very limited. Residents and visitors are encouraged to take Lethbridge Transit, ride share, or take a Neuron Mobility e-scooter or e-bike to the grounds. To plan your transit trip to the fairgrounds, please visit https://myride.lethbridge.ca.

The Mayor's Community Barbecue is also set for August 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. outside Lethbridge City Hall on 4 Avenue, following the Whoop-Up Days parade. More information here.

The Whoop-Up Days fairgrounds will open at 1 p.m. following the parade and the festivities continue through August 27. More information on Whoop-Up Days can be found here.
