Virtual Fieldtrips!

October 2020 to June 2021

Join one of our education staff online & discover our amazing local environment!
Each program is designed to complement Alberta Education's Science Curriculum. 

Cost: $65 per class | *$20 for each additional class on the same day 

Each fieldtrip includes:

1. Pre-Presentation Activity:
20 min in-class activity* led by the teacher
to introduce students to the fieldtrip topic.

2. Interactive Online Presentation: 
30 min presentation led by Nature Centre staff
using MS Teams.

3. Post Presentation Activity: 
20 min activity* to be completed in class with 
the teacher or at home with family. 

These activities are a follow up/extension of the 
virtual fieldtrip topic. 

*All activities will be provided to the teacher
by the Nature Centre.

Owl Prowl

Who has amazing senses? Owls do! Explore some of the ways that local owls
use their senses.

Waste Case | Gr. 4

Explore consumer behavior and the ecological impacts of the waste it generates.
Learn more about conscious consumerism and the science of waste systems,
this module is designed to engage critical thinking around needs, choices and consumer responsibility. 

*This fieldtrip does not include an online presentation.

Wetlands | Gr. 5

Go on a virtual visit to the Elizabeth Hall Wetlands and discover the plants and animals that make this ecosystem unique. Take a closer look at the microscopic invertebrates that live in the pond using our WentzScope™!


Mystery in the Coulees | Gr.6 

Something strange has happened in the Nature Reserve!
Help Nature Center staff analyze the evidence and learn to identify animal
tracks and signs along the way.

Book a tour led by one of our interpretive staff. Programs are suitable for adults, children, EA​L classes,
Guides, Scouts and groups with unique requirements. 

Each program includes interactive activities & outdoor exploration.
