In May 2018, the City's first ever bike boulevard officially opened to the public. This corridor runs along 7 Ave. S. from 4 St. S. to Mayor Magrath Dr. S. creating an east/west connection to major arterial roads.
The bike boulevard discourages through trips by motor vehicles by using directional diverters and low speeds limits.
Lower vehicle traffic, together with intersection enhancements that prioritize bicycle/pedestrians, creates a comfortable cycling route for riders of all ages and abilities.
The bike boulevard aligns with the City of Lethbridge's Cycling Master Plan and is a part of a long-term plan to improve the cycling infrastructure across the city.
