Popson Park is located in the southern most part of the west side of Lethbridge. It originated as part of the Urban Park Project funded by the Provincial Government. The Oldman River forms the eastern and southern boundary of the park and it is a combination of flat land along the river and coulees to the west.
The river provides fishing and boating opportunities and many boaters will launch their boats from this area (caution: the weir is down stream, portage around it).
The Popson Park covered picnic shelter is located on site and is used for social events (the picnic site must be pre-booked through Recreation & Culture). The Lethbridge Astronomy Society and Oldman River Observatory are also located in the park.
Popson Park is also the only off leash dog park on the west side of Lethbridge.
