After noticing garbage and recycling around the pond at Miner's Landing in Copperwood, Mitch Heyland took action. He and his family organized a litter cleanup for the next day, inviting fellow Copperwood residents through their community Facebook page.
With help from a few neighbours, they filled two recycling containers and three garbage bags.
Thank you to the Heyland family for taking an active role in helping to maintain this community park!

There are many neighbourhood associations and individuals in Lethbridge that organize events to clean up all or a part of their neighbourhood. These cleanups could be a litter blitz, weed pull, or planting. Whether you do a neighbourhood wide litter cleanup, weeding of a shrub bed or anything in between, the benefits are many.
If you are planning a neighbourhood cleanup, let us know! We can supply garbage bags, gloves and other tools as well as organize a garbage pick up afterwards. If you recently completed a cleanup, we would also love to hear about it!
