This Committee is here to help your group put together a professional, well-thought-out bid by providing:

  • expertise in putting the bid together
  • bid package development and samples
  • information on amenities, accommodations & facilities in Lethbridge
  • a link to volunteers, experience, financial assistance, and support systems

 We recognize the value of special events and the contribution they make to the vitality of our community. Your City has established this program to provide funding support.

Annual application deadlines:  Until the end of 2021, we accepted applications on an ongoing basis, as the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions allow for events to take place.  We have, however, resumed with the annual deadlines in 2022 with the following deadlines:

  • January 31, 2022 at 4:30 pm
  • May 2, 2022 at 4:30 pm (due to April 30th being a weekend)
  • August 2, 2022 at 4:30 pm (due to July 31 being a Sunday and August 1 being a holiday)
  • October 31, 2022 at 4:30 pm

Heart of Our City Re-Imagine Downtown Activation Grant

This grant provides funds to Lethbridge organizations, businesses, and individuals to host events or take on projects that activate underutilized spaces,  to help to create an exciting and vibrant downtown, and to attract community to the Heart of Our City.  For more information on this new grant, please look here.

Major Community Event Hosting Grant

This grant is intended for events of significant size, that would have an economic benefit and enhance the profile and visibility of the city.  To enquire about this grant, please contact either Andrew Malcolm at or Abby Slovack at .
