What is a Columbarium?

  • A Columbarium is an above ground permanent structure containing several niches or spaces for the placement of cremated human remains.
  • Various sizes are available for purchase and two individual urns may be placed in one niche provided the size of the containers will fit within the space provided.
  • Our smallest niche is 12" high by 12" wide and is 12" deep - the largest is 12" high by 12" wide and is 16" deep.
  • Three New Columbariums, C15, C16 and C17 were installed in Block 27 on the west end of Mountain View Cemetery in the fall of 2015. The niche's in the new columbariums are 12" high by 12" wide and 12" deep.
  • Memorializations  for our columbarium niche's are engraved into the 12" by 12" granite face.
