On February 4, 2007, a tragic fire changed the lives of Firefighter Crowther and his family. Within minutes of arrival at a structure fire, flashover occurred, rapidly spreading fire throughout the structure and sadly resulting in the death of two fire captains and injuries to several firefighters. Firefighter Crowther, suffering severe burns, was able to bail out of a second-floor window.
Firefighter Crowther will tell his story of surviving the incident and the physical and mental recovery that followed.
In this session, energy is focused on firefighter survival, preventing and preparing for the Mayday, and assisting firefighters and their families who become burn survivors. This session is open to all first responders (Police/Fire/EMS) as well as their spouses.
