Complaint Fees

If a complainant withdraws their complaint on agreement with the Assessor, the complainant must notify the Assessment Review Board (ARB) Clerk of their intention to withdraw by completing the Withdrawal Form.   Notice of withdrawal must be received three (3) business days prior to the hearing date in order for the ARB Clerk to refund complaint fees. 

Filing a Complaint About My Assessment:
  •  You have 60 days to appeal following receipt of your assessment notice
  • Complaint form and (if using) agent authorization forms must be used and filled out completely
  • When filing a complaint, ensure your complaint form includes all reasons for appealing and the required complaint fees
  • Cash, cheque, and debit are accepted.  Credit card is not accepted
  • If you are in the process of working with t​he Assessment Department regarding your assessment, the Complaint form must still be submitted, but can be withdrawn if the process is favorable
  • Additional publications and forms are available for the taxpayer on the Government of Alberta Municipal Affairs website
  • Bylaw 5652 establishing the Assessment Review Board is available here
  • Appeals of board decisions go to the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench.
