About the Project
Numerous breaks have occurred on the two water mains between 16 Street N & 23 Street N along 5th Avenue North. These mains were installed in 1939 and 1954 and have reached the end of their lifecycle resulting in poor service to surrounding residents. The two mains will be replaced by a single main meeting modern standards.
To facilitate this work ATCO will be renewing a gas main between 16 Street and 19 Street before the water main is replaced. The project has been split into 2 phases; Phase 1 is from 16 Street to 19 Street and phase 2 will be from 19 Street to 23 Street.
