About the Project

This project includes the design and construction of a new multi-purpose facility at Henderson Lake Park - Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens located on Mayor Magrath Drive South.

This new facility will enhance both the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and Henderson Lake Park visitor experiences by:

  • providing garden visitors with new and improved cultural, historical, horticultural and other related programming and exhibits outside the Garden.
  • providing a venue for event and meeting space for public and private functions taking place in the community, the Park, or the Garden.

The building will be located east of the parking area, along the long formal walkway entry into the Garden. The facility will be between 465-650 m2 and will provide year-round accessible public washrooms.
