This project is currently in the design phase.  The construction tender is anticipated to occur in January 2020 with  construction to follow in the spring.  The facility is scheduled to be substantially complete in spring of 2021.

This project includes the design and construction of a new multi-purpose facility at the Henderson Lake Park - Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden located on Mayor Magrath Drive South.

This new facility will enhance both the Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden and Henderson Lake Park visitor experiences by:
  • Providing garden visitors with new and improved cultural, historical, horticultural and other related programming and exhibits outside the Garden.

  • Providing a venue for event and meeting space for public and private functions taking place in the community, the Park, or the Garden.
The building will be located east of the parking area along the long formal walkway entry in to the Garden.

The facility will be between 465-650 square meters and will provide year-round accessible public washrooms.
