Description of Project
This project included the reconstruction (raise grade, widen and improve drainage) and asphalt paving of approximately 1800m of 43 Street North to the City Limits (62 Avenue North) and approximately 800m of 43 Street South from Gateway Mews to Southgate Blvd. South.
October 19, 2016 - Paving is complete on 43 Street North and the roadway is anticipated to reopen later this week.
October 3, 2016 - 43rd Street
South, between Fairmont Gate South and Southgate Boulevard South, will be open
to motorists on Tuesday, October 4th, 2016.
September 12, 2016 - Paving is over 70% complete on the South portion of the project. The North portion of
the project is progressing simultaneously with multiple construction crews
preparing the road base. 43rd Street South
is scheduled to be completed by the end of
September followed by the north section of 43rd Street being
scheduled to be completed in October, weather permitting.
August 9, 2016 - The construction is underway on the south portion of the project. The north portion of
the project is scheduled to start on Monday, August 15. Weather permitting, paving of 43rd Street South is scheduled to be
completed by the end of September and the north section is scheduled to be completed in October.
July 25, 2016 - The Tender closed Friday July 15
and the contract has been awarded. As per the contract the 43
Street South roadway is the priority and will be constructed first followed by the
North section of 43 Street. Construction is scheduled to start August 8 with
completion in the fall.
We are doing this project:
- To upgrade existing gravel roadways to paved (rural section)
- To upgrade access to both existing Sixmile Coulee and Southgate developments
