- Stage 1 (April-to-August 2017) Construction between Jerry Potts Blvd and Caledonia Blvd, including construction of Caledonia Blvd itself, between Métis Trail and Aquitania Blvd. Stage 1 is expected to be complete and open to traffic by late August 2017 (weather permitting) in time for the start of the school year.
- Stage 2 (Completion by October 2017) Completion of the next stage of Métis Trail, from Caledonia Boulevard West to Whoop-Up Drive is ahead of schedule and is expected to open before the end of September 2017.
- Remaining stages (Completion by September 2018) Deep utilities have been installed between Garry Drive West and Walsh Drive, and improvements at the Walsh Drive/University Drive intersection have also begun. Schedule can vary based on weather conditions.
When this project is complete, new sections of Métis Trail will extend from Whoop-Up Drive north to Walsh Drive and will provide a much needed alternative north-south traffic corridor to relieve congestion on the Whoop-Up Drive/University Drive corridor in west Lethbridge.
