About the Project


Our parks and pathway system includes approximately 670 lights to provide longer periods of safe public use into the evening hours. These lights are part of the Community Lighting Program which has recently updated the standards to require installation of all new lighting to an LED fixture to reduce power consumption. There is an increasing number of old light standards that are no longer able to be repaired because of metal fatigue and the supply of replacement parts being discontinued.


The systematic replacement of these lights aligns with the community lighting standards of energy efficiency and addresses urgent lifecycle replacement of failing lights that can no longer be serviced.
