Description
The work
involves placing an armour rip rap on the bank of the Oldman River to prevent further
erosion like we have experienced. These will be large limestone rocks and we
will soften the appearance with the incorporation of planting pockets.

Background
The area has
suffered significant erosion of the bank in each flood since the 1995 event.
This work is to prevent further erosion of the bank.
Scope
Construction zone includes the parking lot south of the picnic shelter and the roadway, to be
used as staging. The work will involve placing rip rap or rocks along the
shoreline.
Deliverables

along the bank.

Funding
$300,000 grant from the Province of Alberta 2013 Flood Recovery Erosion Control Program.
