The city of Lethbridge allows for tenants to apply for utility services. Utility Customer Care will provide billing and customer service for Electric, Water, Sewer, Solid Waste and Recycling. The City of Lethbridge does not offer natural gas services.
Electricity and natural gas products and services are competitive in Alberta. You and your tenants are free to choose a retailer of choice. You can find a listing of licensed Alberta Retailers at: www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca or call 310-4455 (toll free in Alberta).
We recommend that your tenants sign an application for service form when the lease agreement is signed. You can keep a copy of the application for your records and submit the application on your tenant's behalf.
When your tenant requests to end their utility account you will be sent a letter notifying you of the vacancy and you will be put into billing. Fixed charges will not be discontinued for short term vacancies or during the period of a temporary disconnect of services.
