COVID-19 Waste and Recycling Information

Waste and Recycling Services continue operations with enhanced measures to ensure the public and our staff can be kept safe:

  • The Waste & Recycling Centre is open Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Stay home if you feel unwell, have a cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, sneezing or sore throat. 
  • When visiting our sites, practice physical distancing and follow site attendant directions at all times. 
  • Customer unloading access will be limited to ensure physical distancing is maintained. This may result in longer than normal wait times.
  • Regular curbside collection of garbage and recycling continues. Please remember to bag all tissues, wipes, paper towels and other biomedical waste and place in the garbage.

The Waste and Recycling Centre is open for Public Drop-Off from Monday to Saturday, 7am-5pm (Winter Hours).

Free Saturday Disposal (up to 250kg) is avaialble. Please note that regular tipping fees still apply Monday to Friday - Cashless transactions are preferred but cash is accepted.

We are not able to offer extra curbside collection, however we offer many other services that may suit your needs:


​Yes, curbside recycling and garbage collection continue as normal. For more program information visit


​Yes. The recycling stations will remain open for all residents. Please follow the recommended physical distancing guidelines and stay a minimum of 6 feet away from others when visiting the sites.


​Household recyclables such as paper, cardboard, tin cans and plastic containers labelled 1-7. Clear glass jars and clean bagged plastic bags are also accepted. Click here for a full list of accepted items.  Please remember that leaving other materials such as yard waste, electronics, garbage or any other unlisted items is against the law and subject to illegal dumping fines. Please respect our sites so they can continue to be used safely by all residents.


​Practices such as grass-cycling and back yard composting are great alternatives to help residents deal with their smaller yard waste items and reduce the amount of materials to be disposed of. Backyard composters can be purchased directly from the City.
