The City of Lethbridge Waste & Recycling Utility has designed and built a hydrovac facility. The facility will accept both contaminated and non-contaminated loads. Hydrovac users are encouraged to call 311 for rates and to set up an account with the City if they have not done so already.
The Waste & Recycling Utility has been working for the past 2 years with different stakeholders to design and build a Hydrovac facility that meets the requirements of the proposed draft for the new Code of Practice for Hydrovac Facilities that is being developed by AEP and will be in place by this fall (2021).
The facility construction started in May and is ready to start receiving loads. There is still some work to be completed on the landscaping and site lights, but overall the facility has been completed and is ready to accept materials as per the registration submitted to AEP. Signs and educational materials are being finalized and will be available soon.
