The projects identified for electric distribution are required to maintain a modern, efficient and reliable electric system. Electric distribution is the distribution of electricity from one of the City of Lethbridge's 6 substations to your home or business. The City of Lethbridge is responsible for maintaining 4,800 transformers, 2,450 kilometres of underground lines, 450 kilometres of overhead lines and other related infrastructure.
Electric Transmission Projects 2014-2023
The projects identified for electric transmission are required to maintain a modern, efficient and reliable electric transmission system. Electric transmission is the transmission of electricity from power plant and generators across Alberta to our 6 substations. The City of Lethbridge is responsible for maintaining 35 kilometres of 138,000 volt lines, 6 substations and other related infrastructure.
Electric Support Projects 2014-2023
Electric support projects contribute to both electric transmission and distribution. These projects are required to maintain modern, efficient and reliable electric system in the City of Lethbridge.
These projects are funded from customer charges and the Electric Reserve.
