Think before you send items down your drains to avoid spending thousands of dollars on costly repairs. Our sewer system is dealing with more and more clogs caused by items that were never meant to be put down our drains, or flushed down the toilet.
BEWARE of the claim 'FLUSHABLE'
What if the label says flushable? Items that say they are flushable, such as wipes, may not make it through your sewer system, which will cause issues in sewers near your house or on its way to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In the Kitchen
The items in the kitchen that are most concerning are fats, oils and grease! YES, THIS INCLUDES BACON... and yes, indeed, they should not go down the drain!
Where should they go? Place them in a jar to solidify. Then dispose of it in your garbage bin, unless you can find a safe, creative way to reuse it!
What about in the bathroom?
There are many items that claim to be flushable but in reality are causing sewer blockages, clogs and backups and costly repairs for home owners. Please read the following list of 'unflushables'.
