Water Rationing

Please Note: Water Rationing is NOT in place at this time.

What is Water Rationing?

Water rationing is limiting water use due to concerns regarding water supply.

When Will Water Rationing Be Required?

NOTEWater Rationing will only be required if we experience issues with our water supply or water treatment.

Water rationing may be required short term (less than three weeks, or has a determined endpoint) or long term (greater than 3 weeks or problem does not necessarily have a determined endpoint). Water rationing will be required under the following circumstances:

LONG TERM water rationing may be required when we are experiencing:

  • Drought
  • Flooding * this could be short term as well
  • Other Environmental Events

SHORT TERM water rationing may be required when we are experiencing:

  • Mechanical Issues/Failures
  • Water Quality Concerns
  • Infrastructure Threats (pipeline breaks, fires, pump failures, etc)

What is Required During Water Rationing?

During water rationing, we ask the community to engage in the Water Rationing Action Plan.

Water Rationing Stages and Violation Charges

Depending on the stage of water rationing that is required, the following outlines the demand reduction targets required, as well as the violation charges associated with non-compliance.

Note: A letter will be given if there is a reported case of "water waste". If non-compliance exists, then a violation charge may be given.
