    For the past 30 years the City of Lethbridge and local youth groups have partnered to ensure that Christmas trees continue to give after the Holiday Season. Over 1.5 million kilograms or approximately 95,000 Christmas trees have been diverted from the landfill since the program began. This years collection will take place ​​January 13th, 2024.

    It’s a day full of celebration, storytelling and community as the Cavendish Farms Centre hosts the inaugural Blackfoot Winter Solstice.

     

    The celebration recognizes and pays respect to the Blackfoot community in the form of a dedicated Indigenous art display and ceremony with local Indigenous leaders.

    City Council responds to request from Lethbridge & District Exhibition

    Today, Lethbridge City Council approved initial steps that would pave a new path forward for Lethbridge & District Exhibition and the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre. In response to a letter of intent received from the Lethbridge & District Exhibition, City Council passed a resolution that will provide emergency interim resourcing to create stability and business continuity and explore a vision for the future.

    Monday, December 25 is Christmas Day.
    Tuesday, December 26 is Boxing Day.
    Monday, January 1 is New Year’s Day.

    The City of Lethbridge will have service level changes over the holiday season.

  • City Launches Community Safety Survey

    As part of the work associated with the Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) secured in July 2023, the City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Police Service are seeking input from the community on perceptions of safety.

    The Federal BSCF aims to support Municipalities in addressing gun and gang prevalence, particularly among youth and young adults. This includes determining funding allocations for community-led projects and addressing knowledge gaps on the impacts of interventions in gun and gang violence.
