What is Education & Outreach?
Education & Outreach connects people of all ages to our city's essential infrastructure.
We help create an understanding of how it works, why it matters and how our community's actions make a difference. Our team uses engaging, hands-on activities to make learning fun and rewarding, including:
- In-class presentations
- Live facility tours
- Virtual reality tours
- Community programming
- Online resources, and more!
Our goal is to help our community foster long-term environmental stewardship and shared responsibility. We achieve that by connecting people to real-world experiences and local infrastructure.
We look forward to bringing the world of infrastructure to you! Get in touch with us at education@lethbridge.ca.
Areas of Infrastructure We Support
Waste & Environment
We explore our garbage, recycling and organic waste management processes – from collection, to processing, to reduction and diversion.
Transit & Transportation
We examine how people in our city move from A to B, through public transit, active transportation, road networks and transportation safety.
Water & Wastewater
We follow our water's journey from source, to tap, to the environment – including water and wastewater treatment, conservation and stormwater awareness.
Planning & Design
We analyze our planning and development in public spaces and neighbourhoods that support growth, connectivity and quality of life.
Electric
We introduce our electricity delivery system and the impacts of daily energy consumption.
