A permit is issued on the understanding that the information and material provided by or on behalf of the applicant and/or homeowner in support of its issuance is accurate, correct and complete. The City of Lethbridge may revoke or suspend the permit by written notice to the applicant and/or homeowner if any information or material provided by or on behalf of the applicant is false, inaccurate or incomplete, or if the permit has been issued in error, or if the work authorized by the permit is contrary to any bylaw of the City of Lethbridge or any Provincial regulation.
If this permit is revoked or suspended, all work authorized by it must immediately cease and the City of Lethbridge may issue a Stop Work Order on the project.
Any applicable fees are based on the information that the applicant and/or homeowner has provided. Additional or revised fees may be required after the assessment of an application. Application fees may or may not be refunded in accordance with the appropriate City of Lethbridge bylaw.
Every permit issued by a Safety Codes Officer shall expire and become null and void if the work authorized by the permit is not commenced within 90 days from the date of permit issuance, or if the work authorized by the permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 120 days at any time after the work is commenced.
The property owner is responsible for contacting Alberta One Call and having all utility locations marked prior to construction. Permission to build over any utility must be approved by that utility company.
The personal information collected on the Building Permit Form is authorized by sections 4(a) and 4(c) of the Protection of Privacy Act. This information is necessary to process your building permit application and will be input into an automated system to validate contractor eligibility for the type of permit requested.
