Please, download the new and free Lethbridge Loop smartphone app to receive street sweeping notifications 24 hours before sweeping starts in your area.

No parking signs are placed in a specific neighbourhood the day before to notify residents of street sweeping the following day.

All vehicles must be moved before 7:30 a.m. on street sweeping days. Parking tickets will be issued to vehicles that are not moved from the street, as per the traffic bylaw. Sweepers will work around vehicles parked on the street but they will not return to your area. When the area is complete, signs will be removed and parking can resume.

About our street sweeping program

Street sweeping typically runs from mid-April until the end of June and is weather dependent. Each year, City of Lethbridge street sweeping crews clean thousands of tonnes of sand and debris from about 540 kilometres of city roads. This helps to prevent that material from washing into the Oldman River via our storm sewer system. It also reduces airborne dust in neighborhoods and makes the streets safer for cycling, walking, and driving. The day before the arrival of the street sweepers, you may sweep sanding materials off of sidewalks onto the street for clean up.
