As part of economic recovery efforts, Lethbridge City Council on Monday November 2nd approved a series of six new or improved Development Based Incentive Programs to support investors as well as business owners and their employees. The six incentives include:
CC45 Real Estate Sales and Leases – opened up the ability to lease City-owned lands for 10 years at low lease rate with ability to purchase after at original evaluated price.
CC49 Affordable/Social Housing Capital Project Grant – a capital project grant that will assist in the development of affordable and social housing
CC52 Urban Core Housing Incentive Program – a grant for development of attractive, self-contained market-rate dwelling units within the urban core.
CC53 Targeted Redevelopment Incentive Program – tax based incentive for targeted redevelopment that reduces the effect of an increase in municipal taxes attributable to the differential between pre-construction and post-construction assessment.
CC61 Urban Core Property Improvement Grant Program – a grant for improvements in the urban core, including: quality façade improvements, permanent interior and exterior space improvements, rehabilitation of key aspects that support the functionality and re-use of buildings, and barrier free/accessibility improvements.
CC64 Industrial Municipal Tax Incentive – tax based incentive to attract new industry and promote substantial redevelopment and expansion of existing industry by cancelling a portion of the increase in municipal taxes attributable to the differential between the pre-construction assessment and the post-construction assessment.
