Big Truck Petting Zoo Returns

On Saturday May 27, the Lethbridge Public Library Crossings Branch parking lot will be taken over once again by some of the City’s largest vehicles because the Big Truck Petting Zoo is coming back!

“Considering the success of last years’ event, we’re excited to participate again,” says Joel Sanchez, Director of Infrastructure Services, “It’s not everyday you get the opportunity to meet the people, get up close with the equipment and get a firsthand look at how work is done throughout our city.”

On display will be some regular favourites including the waste and recycling garbage truck, Police cruiser, and transportation street sweeper; but expect to meet some new trucks and equipment this year too.

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Lethbridge to celebrate Public Operations Week by hosting the Big Truck Petting Zoo again. We had fantastic feedback from families last year and we are excited to welcome the community back for another event,” says Sarah Head, Lethbridge Public Library Branch Services Manager.

Big Truck Petting Zoo is Saturday May 27, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crossings Branch north parking lot, 255 Britannia Boulevard West and is free for all to attend. Public Works Weeks runs May 21 – 27 and recognizes the importance of public works in the daily operations of the City of Lethbridge.
