City water with odour is safe to consume

Residents may notice an off-smelling odour or taste coming from their residential water outlets for the next few weeks. The City of Lethbridge water treatment plant has recently had to increase chlorine dosages to ensure proper treatment due to the spring run-off. While this treatment is occurring, the water is safe for consumption and can be used as normal.

The taste and odour of the water will clear up as adjustments in treatment take effect and water in the system is consumed.
