  • Lethbridge City Council voted 7-2 in favour of entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lethbridge & District Exhibition (LDE). Subject to the Government of Alberta approving the proposed MOU, the agreement will create an interim governance structure comprised of City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge County administration. This group will focus on building a viable business model and governance structure for the organization and ensuring the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre is best serving the region.   • Council unanimously passed a resolution, from an Official Business Motion from Acting Mayor John Middleton-Hope, to continue proactive steps in addressing water supply concerns and implementing strategic solutions to combat water scarcity. The action is in response to persistent drought conditions in southern Alberta, resulting in below-normal levels in every reservoir. Read the full news release here
  • From a Motion Arising from Acting Mayor Middleton-Hope, Council voted 8-1 to direct Administration to return to a future meeting of City Council with a proposed range of options and scope for a potential comprehensive security audit of the first floor of City Hall
  • From an Official Business motion from Councillor Belinda Crowson, Council voted to rescind the following resolution from November 8, 2022: “4.4.2 Affordable and Social Housing Operating Grant Options BE IT RESOLVED THAT City Council consider only offering capital grants to affordable and social housing providers.”
  • After being pulled from the Consent Agenda, Council voted 8-1 to pass the 2023 Transportation Master Plan
  • Council voted unanimously in favour to pass second and third readings of Bylaw 6430 - Downtown Business Improvement Area Tax Bylaw
  • From an Administration Submissions, Council approved the Building Safer Communities Fund 2024-2025 Contribution Agreement, the Lethbridge Land 2023-2026 Work Plan - Proposed Amendment, the Winter 2023-24 Unsheltered Homelessness Response Funding Investment Plan and new Council Chamber Decorum Signage
  • The following items were approved with Consent Agenda: Toxic E Waste Round-Up Pilot Update, Land Use Bylaw Renewal Project Update and Harbour House Expansion
