Second intake underway for Re-Imagine Downtown Activation Grant

More money is up for grabs in the second intake of the Re-Imagine Downtown Activation Grant.

The Grant emerged from the Heart of Our City Committee (HOCC) in 2021. It supports initiatives, events and programs that energize dormant private and public spaces.

The first intake period saw 20 applications received, totaling more than $220,000 in funding requests. Eleven projects were approved, worth a combined nearly $75,000. The second intake runs from April 15 – May 15, 2024, with events awarded in June. Approximately $45,000 is available in the second intake period.

The 2024 grant emphasizes the activation of Galt Gardens Park. Events hosted in the park can receive funding of up to $15,000 per initiative. Events held elsewhere can qualify for up to $10,000 per initiative.

Individuals who are unsuccessful in their applications, or received less funding than expected in the initial round, may want to explore the Community Event Support Grant (CESG). Although it can’t be combined with the Re-Imagine Grant, the CESG could serve as a viable alternative, offering potentially greater funding for your event.

Further event information can be found on the City of Lethbridge Community Calendar and on the Downtown BRZ calendar.
