Several Parks, Playgrounds Set For Upgrade Work

As the vibrant colours of spring begin to blossom, we begin some of our playground and park construction projects throughout the city. There are several projects underway or starting soon, including:

  • William Pearce Park (located in Riverstone) - Beginning today, we will be removing the sandbox next to the playground and installing a 3D rubber reptile play feature. The work is expected to be completed by the end of next week, weather permitting.
  • Willow Brook Park (near Mike Mountain Horse School) - Beginning Monday, May 29, we will be repairing a 2D pattern in the rubber surfacing. There may be a slight impact to park users as the swings and work area will be fenced off. The main play structure will remain open for use. The work is expected to be completed by the end of next week, weather permitting.
  • Henderson Park - Beginning Monday, May 29, Henderson playground will be closed to repair the rubber surfacing. The playground will be fenced off and unavailable during the duration of the repair. The work is expected to be completed June 5, weather permitting.

If your regular park is under construction, the City has over 130 parks and natural areas to explore discover and play.
