Three homes damaged by Boxing Day fire

In the afternoon of December 26, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services responded to a structure fire on Iroquois Crescent West.

The first arriving crews found one house fully engulfed in flames which, due to high winds, quickly spread to the neighbouring homes on either side.

Fire crews were able to stop the fire from jumping to a fourth house and to the houses across the street.  There was however, significant damage to the three homes.

The cause and origin of the fire has not yet been determined as the fire is still under investigation.

Combined loss from the three houses is estimated at $2,000,000. Fortunately, the families from all three houses were safe with no reported injuries to the occupants or the fire fighters at the scene.

Victim Services team members from Lethbridge Police Service and the Red Cross were called in to provide care to the families affected by this tragic fire.

Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services provided a five station response with 30 fire fighters and 11 fire apparatus on scene. Crews remained on scene late into the evening monitoring for hotspots.
