A community celebration of Indigenous Peoples
The City of Lethbridge is preparing for a meaningful day of culture, connection and community this National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD). Join us at the downtown branch of the Lethbridge Public Library on Sunday, June 21, from 12 – 5 p.m.

A welcoming ceremony will open the event, followed by a community feast and many other activities, including:
- Live entertainment with local Indigenous artists
- Dance performances at 12:45 and 2:30 p.m.
- Craft vendors
- Food trucks
- Children’s activities
To view the full schedule and vendor lineup, follow Reconciliation Lethbridge on Facebook. To accommodate this event, the 800 block of 5 Avenue South will be closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 21.
You can also head to Fort Whoop-Up beginning at 10 a.m. for activities including:
- Blackfoot hand games demonstration and participation
- Archery demonstration and history
- Hide tanning and Indigenous material culture
- Story-telling and Blackfoot language learning
- Medicinal uses of wildflowers
Wagon rides have also returned this year. The first ride is at 11 a.m. with the final ride at 4 p.m.
Entry is free at both NIPD events and they’re happening rain or shine, so join us in coming together to celebrate and connect!
