Boating Advisory no longer in effect

Due to improved conditions on the Oldman River, Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services is lifting the boating advisory issued on Tuesday, June 2, effective immediately.

River flow rates have decreased and conditions have improved. However, reduced visibility in the water remains a concern and water temperatures are still cold. Residents may resume normal activities on and around the river but are reminded to use caution and be prepared before entering the water.

All watercraft users must wear a properly fitted lifejacket or personal flotation device, carry the required safety equipment and avoid alcohol or other intoxicants while on Lethbridge waterways.

River conditions can change quickly. Anyone planning to float, paddle or boat should check current river conditions before heading out at rivers.alberta.ca
