Celebrate World Gratitude Day with ‘Gratitude in Play’

To celebrate World Gratitude Day on September 21, the City of Lethbridge is starting a new campaign called “Gratitude in Play.” This campaign says thank you to people who help make sports and recreation better.

We’re asking people in the community to nominate someone who shows great effort, kindness and leadership in local sports and recreation. This could be a coach, volunteer, teammate, staff member or supporter. These people help make our parks, gyms and fields more fun and welcoming for everyone.

“Gratitude in Play is about thanking the people who make sports and recreation special,” says Jennie Sudo, Partnership Specialist with Recreation & Culture. “It’s about caring for others and building strong communities. We want to hear your stories and celebrate those who make a difference.”

You can nominate someone until Thursday, September 18. People who are picked will be celebrated on the City of Lethbridge’s social media and other places during World Gratitude Day week. One person will also get a special Gratitude Plaque to honour their work.

Submit your nomination form today for someone who exemplifies Gratitude in Play.

Let’s say thank you and celebrate the power of play!
