Chat, skate and celebrate at Community Conversation

Lethbridge residents are invited to share their ideas and feedback on key City projects and services at the upcoming Community Conversation, taking place Thursday, January 29, from 3–7 p.m. at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

The Community Conversation is designed to make it easy for residents to have their say on City initiatives that directly impact daily lives. More than 40 projects, programs and services will be represented, with many offering active, in-person feedback opportunities.

“This engagement event is about listening to residents and learning from their experiences,” says Sara Peters, Senior Communications & Engagement Strategist. “Residents can provide input on active projects like snow plowing and windrow assistance, proposed improvements to assessment and tax notices and transportation planning.”

The event is family-friendly and includes free public skating from 3-7 p.m., including sharing the ice with some Lethbridge Hurricanes players from 4-5 p.m. Residents of all ages can also ‘Give It a Try’  which is an event that will transform a portion of the ice into a hands‑on, Olympic and Paralympic Games‑inspired activity zone from 5-7 p.m.

The event will also showcase a new Education and Outreach initiative - virtual tours of City facilities.

"We're excited to launch our brand-new virtual reality tours at this Community Conversation," says Asheley Cowie, Infrastructure Education and Outreach Lead. "These immersive, 360-degree tours provide a unique opportunity for residents to explore the City's key infrastructure spaces like the water treatment plant and organics processing facility in a fun and educational way."
