City Launches Community Safety Survey

City Launches Community Safety Survey

As part of the work associated with the Building Safer Communities Fund (BSCF) secured in July 2023, the City of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Police Service are seeking input from the community on perceptions of safety.

The Federal BSCF aims to support Municipalities in addressing gun and gang prevalence, particularly among youth and young adults. This includes determining funding allocations for community-led projects and addressing knowledge gaps on the impacts of interventions in gun and gang violence.

The BSCF aligns with the development of the Community Clean and Safe Strategy. The Strategy brings together the City, community residents and stakeholders to address safety issues and identify high-priority local risk factors.

The Community Safety Survey is now open for input until January 19, 2024. Results from the survey, and key stakeholder engagement, will build upon existing strategies to strengthen the City’s understanding of community needs and trends.
