College Drive roundabout construction
Beginning Monday, June 15, construction will begin on a new roundabout at the intersection of College Drive South and 28 Avenue/Tudor Boulevard South.

The intersection will be fully closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic for the duration of construction. There will be no through access and clearly marked detour routes will be in place. There may also be temporary parking restrictions in the area. Please follow all posted signage.
The intersection is expected to reopen on August 7. Construction timelines may change depending on weather conditions.
Lethbridge Transit service on Route 2 Blue and Route 62 will be impacted by the intersection closure. Four stops along College Drive South and one stop on 28 Avenue South will be inactive during construction. Temporary bus stops will be placed on Scenic Drive South and 28 Street South. Transit passengers can review route detours on MyRide.
This project is part of the City’s 2026 Intersection Improvements Program, focused on improving safety and traffic flow at this location. Work will include roadway reconstruction, upgraded street lighting, relocation of a bus stop and landscaping restoration.
Modern roundabouts are designed to improve traffic flow while increasing safety by reducing speeds, minimizing conflict points and lowering the risk of severe collisions.
To help residents prepare, the City has launched a new video about how to drive in roundabouts. Drivers are encouraged to remember “SLOWERS” when navigating a roundabout:
- Slow down
- Lane selection before entering
- Observe crosswalks
- Wait for circulating traffic
- Enter when safe
- Right signal to exit
- Scan for pedestrians again
