Community invited to spooktacular monster-truck-trash-mash event!

Get your vocal cords ready for a screaming good time as the City’s Waste & Environment department invites the community to their Monster (Trash) Mash event!

Residents are invited to join staff at the Waste & Recycling Centre to learn more about where their household waste goes with a day of free, family-friendly fun.

When: Saturday, October 14

Time: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Where: Waste & Recycling Centre

Learn about how the landfill works, how compost is made, see where your recycling goes all while seated in a monster truck! Other opportunities for a spooktacular time include:

  • Children's entertainment and activities with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, Environment Lethbridge and the Water and Wastewater department
  • Mini "Big Truck Petting Zoo" featuring collections trucks and other equipment
  • Free BBQ lunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. while supplies last
  • Tours of the Blue Sky Educational Centre
  • Halloween costumes encouraged

Access-A-Ride bus tours are also available for those less thrill-seeking residents from 11:15 a.m. – 1:15 p.m.

Registration is required to secure your seat on the Monster Truck and Access-A-Ride tours and spots are limited. Please note, there are height requirements to ensure the safety of the monster truck passengers. This event is weather permitting and may be subject to cancellation if there are strong winds or heavy rain/snow.
