Construction begins on northside intersection improvement project

Key mobility, safety and efficiency upgrades are coming to an intersection near Legacy Park.

The City of Lethbridge’s annual intersection improvement program will be underway from mid-April until October. It focuses on addressing capacity requirements, enhancing safety and reducing congestion in existing areas of the city.

This year’s program gets underway today, April 13, at the northwest corner of Legacy Park. The intersection of 13 Street and 40 Avenue/Blackwolf Boulevard North will see the following improvements:

  • Four-way stop control
  • Accessibility improvements around the intersection
  • Curb extensions and pedestrian crossing improvements

To keep construction crews safe, motorists are reminded to drive with caution and follow all detours and posted signage.
